Debi has worked with professional services businesses for over 20 years. Her experience spans regional, mid-tier and Big 4 accounting firms as well as specialist and national law firms. She has worked both in-house as Head of Business Development (BD) and also as a freelance consultant before establishing Never Second in 2007. Debi is a hands-on proposal and BD specialist and an experienced coach and trainer.
Throughout her career in professional services she has been involved in a wide range of BD activities. She has led campaigns, coached and mentored partners and fee earners, facilitated workshop sessions and led training courses. Her bread and butter is working with teams to support competitive tenders and she offers help at any stage of the process; from project management, facilitating brainstorming sessions to draw out the key messages, developing proposal documents, coaching presentation teams through to conducting client debriefs.
In addition she has delivered a range of tailored training sessions to clients on topics including winning tenders, presentation skills and consultative selling skills.
David is a chartered accountant and tax adviser and has worked in financial services for over 25 years. He worked as a fee earner in audit, corporate finance and tax before moving into the field of sales and business development in 2001. He is a co-founder of Never Second.
David previously worked for Citibank, KPMG and SG Warburg. During eight years at Arthur Andersen he was a tax adviser before becoming Director of Bids supporting teams across the firm involved in formal tenders and other business development activity. He was regularly involved in designing and delivering both technical and soft skills training for individuals and groups.
David advises professional services firms on winning new work and retaining clients. He gets involved in all aspects of business development and account management with a particular emphasis on competitive tenders. David has applied his expertise on behalf of cross-border teams selling services to household names, but is equally comfortable working on smaller opportunities which are nonetheless important to vendor and buyer alike. He enjoys the challenge of cultural differences and has trained people from over 60 countries in the art of winning bids. He shares his broad experience as a member of the Enterprise Committee of the London Society of Chartered Accountants.
Katie has been managing the sales process in the professional services sector for almost 20 years. She is an Associate with Never Second and has been running her own consultancy since 2007. Prior to that Katie headed up sales teams at international legal, management consulting, accountancy and consulting engineering firms.
She works with teams at every stage in the bids process and is regularly involved in the development and implementation of training programmes for professionals at all levels.
Priyanka has worked as a bids adviser for ten years. She has worked at City firms Slaughter and May, Berwin Leighton Paisner and Baker & McKenzie. Priyanka is an Associate with Never Second and has worked as a freelance consultant for professional services organisations including law firms, accountants, property firms and management consultants.
Priyanka leads the bid process, working with key stakeholders to develop strategy and key messages, drafting and editing documents, and coaching for pitch presentations.
Binita has ten years of Marketing and Business Development experience in the legal industry working for law firms in the UK and India.
Her experience includes creating marketing plans, fleshing out CRM programmes, managing the pitch process, creating marketing collaterals and driving financial reporting. She has also worked on formulating and executing a CSR/pro bono strategy for law firms working closely with key clients. Other projects Binita has been involved in include restructuring marketing operations, developing and maintaining CV libraries, directory submissions, analyst submissions, pitch process development, financial reporting, and training in the effective use of InterAction.
With over seventeen years' experience in professional services, Charlotte Faull has been responsible for the business development and marketing functions across Europe at several international law firms. Within these roles she provided strategic and practical business development, bid and account management support and demonstrated a strong track record in achieving positive and targeted outcomes. In addition to these activities, Charlotte delivered training and coaching to lawyers to help deliver business growth and enhance market profile and reputation.
She originates from New Zealand where she spent a number of years as Head of Business Development at the largest commercial law firm, Russell McVeagh.
As an Associate with Never Second, Charlotte provides support at every stage of competitive bids, RFPs and tenders, including coaching and training.
